Sainsbury's gets a BIG thumbs up from us!
As soon as we say goodbye to spooky season, Sainsbury’s is the first major supermarket to drop their new Christmas advert, bringing the Christmas magic nice and early this year. Inspired by Roald Dahl’s beloved story, the 2024 Christmas advert features the iconic BFG alongside Sainsbury’s colleagues, Sophie, as they take viewers on a whimsical culinary adventure.

The Creative
This year’s advert was crafted by Sainsbury’s agency New Commercial Arts. This agency has brought a fresh, imaginative twist to the holiday campaign by collaborating with The Roald Dahl Story Company to feature the beloved character of the Big Friendly Giant.
The 104-second ad is supported by 60-, 30-, and 20-second versions, all featuring the line, “Hey Sainsbury’s,” as colleagues reassure customers that Sainsbury’s has something for everyone this Christmas.
